Trace Adkins ’ band bus was involved in a fatal crash on Saturday in Caddo Parrish, Louisiana . A pickup truck crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the tour bus. Both men in the truck were killed upon impact while none of Trace’s band received any serious injuries. Trace was already at the venue and upon hearing the news, he traveled by van to pickup the uninjured band members, then went to the hospital to check on five members of his crew who were being treated for minor injuries. "This is a real tragedy," says Trace. "Two people have been killed and I don't even know their names. So out of respect for their families, I prefer not to comment too much at this time." Trace performed a scaled down acoustic set during his co-headlining show with Martina McBride .

“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin [his wife] has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.”

Billy Currington was injured Saturday night when the stage he was performing on at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta, Canada collapsed due to heavy winds. One person died, two others remained in critical condition Sunday, and 75 people were injured. According to the Edmonton Sun, Billy appeared to have been cut on the face by a falling pole. His bassist, Shaun Smith, was pulled from the stage area by emergency responders and suffered an injured arm. According to the Associated Press, Kevin Costner and his band, Modern West, were under the stage getting ready to perform when the stage collapsed and two band members were injured.

I went to the Kenny Chesney show in Philly on Saturday. We had great weather all day long! Teachey, North Carolina ... The state shut down a home daycare center after a raid by Alcohol Law Enforcement agents uncovered an alleged moonshine operation.
Investigators say Johnnie and Judy Wilson were not only holding a daycare inside their home, but were also selling moonshine for as much as $3 an ounce.
In addition to moonshine, agents reportedly also found guns, ammo, and drugs at Wilson's Home Day Care.
The couple now faces six misdemeanors and a felony.

A national program has been sending pizza and beer to U.S. servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan.The organization is called Pizza 4 Patriots and was started in Chicago by a father and son who had both served in the military overseas and sorely missed a good pizza and beer during their service.Last year the organization raised enough donations to supply 2,000 pizzas to troops in Iraq for July 4th. This year for the Super Bowl, 2,000 more were sent over. The group aims to make another shipment to troops in time for July 4th.

I've always said we have some great country music talent in NEPA. Last night I had a chance to check out an "outsider" by the name "Chris Woodward and the Shin Diggin" band. I thought they were pretty good! The lead singer reminds me of Keith Anderson/Jason Aldean type of singer. The drummer was line "Animal" from the Muppets, just having the time of his life. I also thought it was cool to have a full time banjo in the band but it was hard to hear it. I hope to catch them again sometime. Also, the two ladies I was with thought that Chris Woodward was hot.

We went out to dinner at a reputable restaurant last night. This place has been open for years, everyone knows of it. When we get our bill after the meal I'm surprised to find we're charged about $15 for drink refills. This upset me because of the size of the glasses and the fact that they pack them with ice! You get about 2 sips from each glass before you need a refill. I feel like like it's price gouging. Needless to say I doubt if I'll go back there anytime soon! I have too many choices....on the very same street as this place!

Yesterday was my 43rd birthday! One of my gifts was my fishing license and a new fishing pole! The only problem was that "she" got one too! To me, fishing is supposed to be relaxing, but I know that she won't be able to sit and be quiet the whole time. She would say the same thing about me and shopping. Is there any activity that you wouldn't want to participate in with your spouse?

Keith Green and Christine England recently dressed as Shrek and Princess Fiona for their wedding day. 100 guests, who also dressed as characters from the film, including the Donkey and the Gingerbread Man, attended the London wedding. Christine says it took 3 hours to do the green makeup for her and her husband. "Every girl wants a fairytale wedding and I got one - with a bit of a twist. It was a real laugh. The idea just came to me. I knew what we would go as them because Keith looks just like Shrek. It was funny because when we said our vows Keith had these green ears sprouting from the top of his head. I tried to convince my teenage son to dress up as the Donkey but he wasn't having any of it."

Can you believe that fat people are getting blamed for global warming? The "experts" say that obese people eat more which causes an extra strain on the planet. Also the extra flatulence adds to the decrease in the ozone leading to the ice caps melting. And, finally, they say that fat drive more which increases emissions, and the demand for fuel! I say that fat people keep the economy going! The restaurants hire more people. The automakers have to make more cars so that we don't have to walk, which means jobs! And how boring would it be if everyone was skinny!
